With summer heat waves shooting the temperature, the state health department issued an advisory for the hospitals and medical officers on Tuesday.

The highest temperate in the state was recorded at Bilaspur city at 44.6 degrees. It was followed by Raipur at 43.4 degrees, while Pendraroad registered 42.5 degrees. Ambikapur recorded 41.4 degrees and Jagdalpur registered 40.1 degrees.

In the advisory the department asked chief medical officers, health officers and civil-surgeon-cum-chief superintendents to make required arrangements for dealing with sun stroke. They were also asked to make people aware about the ways to maintain water level in the body.

The department has also asked hospitals to maintain sufficient intravenous fluids and oral re-hydration solution stock at sub-health centres, primary health centres, community health centres, district hospitals and medical colleges.

The medical officials are also directed to keep enough stock of medicines required to treat disease/condition that occur due to heat and summer.
