Headless Body of a boy was found in a field located between Bhagwanpur and Gorkha village about 6 km from Raigarh on Thursday morning, police said.
locals are suspecting it as a case of human sacrifice. However, investigators have maintained that it could be an attempt to mislead the investigations. Some items used in puja like incense sticks, colours and weapon used in murder have been found at the spot. liquor bottles were also found at crime scene, Superintendent of Police (SP) Raigarh, Dr Sanjeev Shukla said.
“The deceased who would be around 13-14 years of age has not been identified so far and we are investigating the incident from every angle. Empty bottles of liquor and incense sticks have also been found at the incident spot and it would not be possible to comment over the incident right now,” the SP said.
According to Shukla, police have got substantial clues and once the deceased is identified, culprits would be nabbed soon. Meanwhile, a case has been registered in this connection and investigations are going on.
