The Chhattisgarh High Court on Monday granted bail to three of the accused of Pathalgarhi movement who were on judicial remand since the month of April on the charges of misguiding the tribal for indulging in unconstitutional act.
The accused include retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, Harman Kindo, retired ONGC official, Joseph Tigga and Peter Khes.
The court granted them bail on personal surety and with a promise that they will not invoke people through inflammatory speech.
Notably, the former officials allegedly raised and led a movement named ‘Pathargarhi’ in Jashpur region of the northern Chhattisgarh in the month of April.
The ruling BJP Government in the state termed it as a conspiracy of certain people misguiding innocent tribal to break constitution while the opposition Congress supported it calling it an agitation against the Government because of distress.
However, the Police finding the role of these former officials in the entire matter arrested them on the charges of giving inflammatory speeches. Since then they were on judicial remand and on Monday the court granted them bail with a strong warning not to repeat the act.
