A hardcore Naxalite carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head was arrested while three lower-rung cadres surrendered in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, a police officer said on Saturday.
Naxalite militia commander Sodi Deva alias Prakash was apprehended from the jungles of Palodi village during a search operation on Friday, Sukma Superintendent of Police Sunil Sharma said.
Deva was involved in the 2013 Naxalite-police encounter in which two security personnel were killed, besides the abduction of an employee of a construction firm and firing on a police party in the district in 2017, the officer said.
Deva carried a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head, he added.
Meanwhile, three cadres -- Madvi Masa, Gonche Deva and Madvi Mada -- surrendered to the police on Friday, Sharma said.
Masa was a former security guard of a senior Maoist cadre, Ganesh Uike, and a supply team member. The other two were militia members in the outlawed movement.
