Hard work, parents' blessings never fail

Sheer hard work, self-belief and the backing of the parents helped Yavanika, a blind girl, to win the Gold Medal in Professional Ethics in BA LLB (Hons) in the 2021 batch at the Hidayatullah National Law University here.

Yavanika also received a standing ovation for a minute as she came up to the dais to receive the honour on Sunday.

Yavanika says that being a blind, her spirit of            inspiration helps her to fly high. Comparing parents with God, she said no goal in life was impossible if one had their blessings. She said she believes in hard work.

Yavanika received the Gold Medal in Professional Ethics during the fifth          convocation of the university in Raipur on Sunday.

Delhi-based Yavanika's father is an officer in the Indian Railway Service and her mother is a special          educator. Her parents            supported her as she decided to study law and joined HNLU, Raipur.

Her mother gave up her job to be with her daughter for the next five years till she completed her course. On completion of her             graduation, she had taken admission in Master of Laws (LLM) course at the National Law College, Bengaluru.

Yavanika says the college, faculty and fellow students supported her a lot during her five-year journey in Raipur, for which she will always be grateful to them.
