Govt's new residential schemes benefitting big builders: Cong

The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) accused the State Government for launching new residential schemes only to benefit big builders.

“The ruling BJP Government is launching new schemes only to ‘usurp’ lands from farmers and small land owners and to ‘benefit’ big builders who are associated with them,” alleged CGPCC president, Bhupesh Baghel and the ClP leader TS Singhdeo, in a joint press release issued here on Wednesday. The Congress leaders said that Kamal Vihar Scheme is one of the examples, where the State Government neither provided compensation nor plots to the locals, who gave their lands under this scheme. “While these land owners are running pillar to post for compensation, the State Government is busy in selling the properties here on higher rates” claimed the party leaders. Similarly, the State Government’s proposal of developing a new residential scheme by taking lands from the residents of Dumartarai, Devpuri, Amalidih, Fundhar, labhandi and Jora is a mere step to give the valuable lands to their ‘aide builders’ on considerably low price, they claimed. “If it’s not the land owner (who gave his land under different schemes) and urban poor (who is in search for affordable housing), then who is in benefit from such schemes” they raised the question.
