A case for death due to negligence under Section 304 (A) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) should be registered in the dome collapse incident at Naya Raipur, demanded Chhattisgarh Congress on Monday.
Former MlA Mohammed Akbar while addressing a Press conference here at the party’s State headquarters Congress Bhawan alleged that the State Government was trying to shield the Contractor Vijay Mittal who had the contract for constructing the dome in Naya Raipur.
“Vijay Mittal is a close relative if BJP leader Sudhanshu Mittal and hence Chhattisgarh government is trying to save him,” Akbar claimed.
He told reporters that Vijay Mittal during the Commonwealth Games in 2010 was given order for equipment supply and furnishing; however, he too had came under the scanner of CBI over corruption charges.
According to Akbar, the State Government has already prepared a case under the revenue book circular in Abhanpur block claiming the dome collapse as a natural calamity and hence there stands no meaning of Magisterial Probe declared by the Chief Minister.
“The Chief Minister himself after the incident had termed the dome collapse as natural calamity so why did he order Magisterial Enquiry,” Akbar questioned.
This is for the first time that the State Government has ordered magisterial probe into a case without any demand, he said.
