Claiming that most of the promises made in the Assembly poll manifesto had been fulfilled, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday assured that some of them which were not yet implemented, including ‘total prohibition’, would be done soon.

Listing achievements of his Government in past one year, Baghel said the promise of prohibition would be fulfilled in a planned way. “It will take time to plan in a better way otherwise it will also be a failure like that of demonetization.”

He was addressing a Press conference at party’s State headquarters Rajiv Bhawan.

Commenting on another big issue, the probe into the Jheeram valley massacre, the Chief Minister mounted attack on the BJP-led Union Government and said it was not handing over files to the state government as it was well aware of who all were responsible for the brutal attack.

He further claimed that the State Government was making honest and consistent efforts to live up to the expectations of the people.

Besides, waiving of farmers' loans and procurement of paddy at Rs  2,500 per quintal, the State Government also slashed the electricity bills to half, increased wages for Tendupatta collection to Rs 4000 per standard bag, launched 'Narva, Garva, Ghurva Bari' scheme for strengthening rural economy, Universal PDS, Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana, Mukhyamantri Haat Bazaar Clinic Yojana, Chief Minister Slum Clinic Scheme, Dr Khubchand Baghel Health Scheme, Chief Minister Special Health Aid Scheme, and many other schemes have been launched for uplift and welfare of villagers, farmers, labourers, women, youth and every section of the society.

Baghel reiterating the pledge of 'Gadhbo Nava Chhattisgarh' said that they would make Chhattisgarh a developed, prosperous and healthy State, the way the ancestors had dreamt.
