With people’s faith, the Chhattisgarh                   government has also             completed tasks which were in public domain but not promised in elections, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Thursday.

Apart from farmer's loan waiver and half electricity bill, other promises are also being implemented, he said.

He was addressing the public at Gram Panchayat Sirpur under the Mahasamund Assembly constituency.

He said the ‘Narva, Garva, Ghurva aur Bari’ (NGGB) has brought drastic changes in farming, with water being made available. It has also helped to recharge the groundwater in the last four years.

The scheme introduced for landless laborers is one of its only kind in the nation, Baghel said.

He threw light on the historical importance of Sirpur in context of             knowledge, trade and          medical health, and stressed the need to develop it as an             international tourist spot.

The Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Yojana’s fourth installment will be disbursed to farmers before March 31, he said.

Now farmers need not travel long distances to sell their produce. Now, the state will also procure oilseeds and pulses on support price, he said.

He pledged to establish a District Cooperative Central Bank in Sirpur, a High School in village Pasid, turn Tumgaon into a sub tehsil, open a Swami Atmanand English Medium School at Tumgaon and a bus stop  outside the limits of Mahasamund city.

Hearing the medical condition of four-year-old Varsha from her father Mithlesh Dhruv, Baghel asked officials to ensure her treatment. She has              congenital facial deformities.

He sanctioned a Rs 1 lakh grant to farmer Gopta Kumar Tandekar for his two children, one pursuing a Bachelor of Science and the other Bachelor of Education.
