Govt starts implementing BJP's election manifesto

The Bharatiya Janata Party Government has started implementing its election manifesto to fulfil the expectations of the people.

It was evident when Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal on Monday held a meeting of the officials of his department and asked them to work in tandem in a systematic way for the overall socio-economic development of the farmers.

Agrawal has been known for his hard work, unique style of functioning and dedication. Whichever departments he had held in the past, he successfully brought radical changes. Speaking to the officials, he said they should focus only on the farmers and nothing else. He said the aim of the department should be to ensure that the economic conditions of the farmers were strengthened up to the maximum. Emphasising the need for more utilisation of barren land, he directed the officials to prepare a roadmap as early as possible.

The State has about 2.40 lakh hectares barren land. The Minister said it was not necessary that only they grow paddy, such barren land could be utilised for nursery, and fish farming. The BJP in its manifesto had promised that it would give priority to the development of barren land and increase crop area in the state. The Minister also expressed his shock that cattle continued to be slaughtered despite a strong law remained in force. He asked the officials to take strong action against such illegal act.

He also directed the officials to address the problems of small farmers who often migrate to other State for more money. He asked the officials to prepare a time bound roadmap so that they do not migrate further.

He asked them to introduce a single window system for the farmers so that they do not face any difficulties while availing government benefits.

Immediate repairing of the defunct tube wells; need to encourage organic fertiliser, deepening of nullahs so that farmers get more water were other issues, he asked the officials to look into.
