Maoists allegedly killed a State Revenue Department employee by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon near Akabeda village in Narayanpur district, senior police official said on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Somaru Gota (45), Narayanpur District Superintendent of Police (SP) Santosh Singh said.
last night, around 40 armed Naxals stormed into Gota’s house in Kodkanar and took him into the forest area. This morning, Akabeda villagers informed the police that a body was lying near their village,” he said.
Police teams were rushed to the spot and the body was recovered, he added.
Police teams have been sent to look for the ultras involved in the crime, the Singh further said.
