The Chhattisgarh government's Public Instructions Directorate has told all district education officers to get details of the various fees sought by private schools during the Covid-19 lockdown.
A letter issued on Friday states that the High Court of Chhattisgarh on July 9 ordered that private schools can charge only tuition fees from parents. After the order, the School Education Department directed a stern implementation of the court order.
The letter says the government is seeking information regarding the fees charged by the private schools. The schools should provide details of fees charged under different heads for fiscal 2019-20, during the lockdown period.
The details should include under which heads the private schools charged the fees. The list of students should also be collected where the private schools have discontinued the online classes for non-deposit of fees or have issued Transfer Certificate.
