As per instructions of Chief Minister Raman Singh, mobile number of beneficiaries under Centre and State-sponsored schemes would be linked with their bank accounts, so that they may receive the information about cash transfer to their account under various schemes through SMS.
Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand has issued circular to all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners and Collectors and directed that all the departments should complete the task of linking mobile numbers of beneficiaries to bank accounts of beneficiaries under Centre and State-sponsored schemes within next six months.
In the circular, Chief Secretary has stated that Government departments directly transfer cash to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries under various Centre and State-sponsored schemes.
But many a time, beneficiaries do not get information about the cash transfer and the scheme under which the amount has been transferred.
During his visit to Rajnandgaon district under lok Suraaj Abhiyan, Raman Singh had given instructions that mobile numbers of beneficiaries should be linked to their bank accounts and after transfer of amounts under various schemes, an SMS should be sent to the beneficiary from State Government in which name of the scheme and the amount of cash etc should be mentioned.
This will enhance transparency in implementation of schemes and create positive image of State Government.
Officials have been given instructions to complete this task within given time-limit in coordination with banks, in form of a campaign. Officials have also been instructed to link mobile numbers of PDS beneficiaries in database.
likewise, the departments, who provide services, should also update the mobile numbers of consumers in the database of service providers. Circular also states that linking of mobile numbers and bank accounts will be monitored by Finance Department and for programmes of other department, monitoring would be done by departments concerned. Monthly progress of this campaign would be compulsorily reported by Department Secretary to Chief Secretary or Secretary to Chief Minister.
