The State Government has issued instructions to mall collectors of the State after making a policy for necessary solutions to the problems coming in the way of urban development.
In the circular issued by the Revenue Department, guidelines related to solution to the issue of Government land coming under the Integrated Suburban Project, strengthening and widening of existing roads and such existing roads which have not been entered in the revenue records have been issued.
Regarding solution to the issue of Government land coming under the Integrated Suburban Project, it has been mentioned in the circular that if the Government or the private land coming under the project is less than five per cent of the total land of the project that land should be allotted to the builder as per the existing rules and regulations on the condition that the builder would return 35 per cent of the developed government land allotted to him to the Government. In such a situation, the revenue department would allot the land received from the builder to the institution proposed by the Housing and Environment department as per the existing rules and regulations and later the possession of the 35 per cent developed land would also be given to the same institution. On the widening of existing roads, the circular said, the revenue department needs land for widening and strengthening of roads at present existing in the development projects or revenue records. In such situation land would be allotted as per the existing rules and regulations. Roads constructed on private land would be entered in the ‘Wajib-ul-urj’ and recorded in the Naksha.
This decision has been taken for policy decision for necessary rectifications after assessing the problems being faced in the urbanisation in the State at the Cabinet held on October 22, 2012.
