Govt not prioritising pressing issues, says Ajit Jogi

Holding the ruling BJP Government responsible for costly electricity and disproportionate hike in the cost of daily use items, former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi accused the Government of not giving priority to those issues on the basis of which it returned to power in the State.

Jogi accused the State Government for taking people on the verge of starvation by cancelling the ration cards of those living below poverty line, he said in a statement issued here on Friday. He further accused the BJP Government at the Centre for accomplishing its political targets by removing Governors despite the Supreme Court ruling of 2010 on changing the Governors with the change in government at the Centre.

Jogi said that the Government has failed miserably to check hoarding and black marketing which has added to the misery of the general public.

On the other hand, the BJP is busy removing Governors of different States and to help its own men to take advantage of the Constitutional posts, he alleged. The former Chief Minister said that the priority of the Government should have been to check inflation and corruption for which they have been elected by the people. “BJP Government is least concerned about the people,” said Jogi. Jogi warned the Central Government and asked to focus on the issues on the basis of which it gained power otherwise Congress will launch a protest.

He said that inflation rate is increasing ever since BJP came to power while the BJP supported industrialists are manipulating the capital market to misguide people who however are very well aware of their plans.
