The Chhattisgarh Congress has blown the poll bugle with the launch of its ‘Congress lao, Chhattisgarh Bachao’ campaign from Rajnandagaon.
Addressing a public meeting at the State High School ground here, Chhattisgarh State Congress President Dr Charan Das Mahant on Friday said the Raman Singh Government has given away 6 lakh acres of land to the industrialists.
He said that funds received from the Centre by the ruling Government in the name of power supply distribution were not utilised for the benefit of consumers and farmers. Mahant held the ruling BJP Government responsible for the backwardness of Chhattisgarh.
Congress legislative leader Ravindra Choubey said the bugle for change in the regime is being blown by the party from Rajnandagaon today.
He said that the martyrdom of the party leaders in Jeeram Ghati will not go waste.
The Congress party by reaching the people at the Block and District levels will uproot the BJP Government from the State, Choubey said “Time is not very far when the BJP Government would be out of power in Chhattisgarh,” he said. Congress National General Secretary BK Hariprasad said that Chhattisgarh had lost a senior leader such as Vidya Charan Shukla. He said that the senior Congress leaders lost their lives at Jeeram Ghati due to insufficient security provided to them.
Hariprasad said that instead of talking of development, Chief Minister Raman Singh is deceiving people by talking about making it to power for the third time.
All India Congress Committee Secretary and In-charge of Chhattisgarh Bhaktacharan Das charged the ruling BJP Government for being ‘anti-Chhattisgarh’ and ‘anti-people’.
