'Govt forcing SC/ST, OBC police officials to compulsory retirement'

Chhattisgarh Janta Congress (J) president Ajit Jogi on Wednesday accused the State Government of forcing as many as 42 police officers belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class to compulsory retirement.

Jogi, while addressing a Press conference here, said he welcomed the Government move of sacking non performing officers but the compulsory retirement given to police officers belonging to SC/ST and OBC category was not a good decision.

Jogi also criticised the Government for mass cow deaths allegedly due to starvation.

A responsible leader of BJP was involved in it, however, appropriate action had not been taken against him, he said.

The main reason for the deaths of cows was that the grazing ground had been allegedly encroached by the influential leaders of BJP and Congress party…there was compulsion of sending the stray cows in shelter houses, Jogi said.

He further criticised the Government for alleged deaths of three newborns in Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar hospital in Raipur and said he was not satisfied with the probe.
