Criticising the ruling BJP regime over lohandiguda exam impersonation case, Congress national general secretary BK Hariprasad said that if any ordinary tribal person would have been involved in the case, then he would have been behind the bars.
“So far not even a FIR has been lodged as a Minister’s wife is involved in the case, he said while addressing a Press conference at party’s State headquarters Congress Bhawan here on Sunday.
To a query that Congress party was not actively taking up the civil supply scam at the national level, he said the party would continue to rake up the issue of civil supplies scam and would also pursue the matter in the court.
However, he admitted that Congress party’s Central leadership has not been able to focus on the civil supplies scam as bigger issues including Madhya Pradesh’s ‘Vyapam’ scam and others have gained prominence.
Replying to a question about former chief minister Ajit Jogi’s statements contradicting the party’s State leadership’s views over the Minister’s wife cheating case, Hariprasad categorically said official party stand on the issue was what State Congress president Bhupesh Baghel had already expressed.
The State Congress chief has said Jogi’s statements must be seen as his personal views, he said.
Hariprasad was in Raipur along with Congress national general secretary Bhakta Charan Das, State Congress president Bhupesh Baghel, ClP leader TS Singhdeo and other leaders to attend Congress Sewa Dal regional conference.
