The Chhattisgarh Government has finally decided to outsource recruitment work for filling up of vacant posts in high and higher secondary schools in Bastar and Surguja divisions including Government hospitals. A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Raman Singh in the Cabinet meeting held at the Mantralaya here. It was informed in the meeting that there are many posts of teachers for Maths, Science, English and Commerce subjects vacant in the Revenue Divisions of Bastar and Surguja in High and Higher Secondary schools. Similarly, there is a shortage of general doctors, specialist doctors, nurses and lab technicians in hospitals in Bastar and Surguja.
The State Government, despite its best efforts could not fill up the vacant posts in sufficient numbers. Since Education and Health are services essential for the general public, the Cabinet endorsed the proposal of outsourcing recruitment for the vacant posts in Bastar and Surguja divisions. The Cabinet also approved extension of the tenure of the probe in the Sterilisation deaths case in Bilaspur district by a one-member Commission headed by Retired District and Sessions Judge Anita Jha. The tenure for submission of the report by the Commission ended on May 12.
