State government employees and officials would be on a five-day strike from Monday to press their demands of Dearness Allowance and House Rent Allowance.
They are demanding 34% DA and HRA as per 7th pay commission at par with the central government employees.
The strike had been called under ‘Nishpaksha’ Banner in which most of the employees’ and officials’ association had agreed upon.
All the three major associations of government teachers Shaley Shikshak Sangh, Naveen Shikshak Sangh and Chhattisgarh Teachers Association would be on strike under Nishpaksha banner, leader of teachers union Sanjay Sharma said.
Earlier the employees’ union have handed over a memorandum at various forums and had given an ultimatum of going on strike from July 25 if their demands remain unfulfilled.
Chhattisgarh government had a month ago hiked DA for 5% but it was insufficient, the employees’ associations said. A total of 12% DA was still short if compared to the central government employees and officials, they claimed.
Similarly, the officials and employees of Chhattisgarh government were at present getting HRA based on 6th pay commission and because of which they were suffering a loss of Rs 4,000 to Rs 14,000 per month, they said.
