The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a 25-year-old government employee in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district for accepting a bribe, an ACB officer said.
The ACB caught red-handed clerk Honey Kashyap, posted in the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Saja, said ACB Superintendent of Police Pankaj Chandra.
The ACB laid a trap after a complaint that Kashyap sought Rs 50,000 to release financial assistance to be provided after a person drowned in a water body.
He was held while taking Rs 10,000 as first installment of the bribe amount, Chandra said.
An offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him, the officer added.
