The State Government has simplified about 57-year old rule governing medical care with provision of benefits for its employees with the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Medical Care) Rules 2013.

Principal Secretary, Health, M K Raut stated that the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Medical Care) Rules 2013 had been introduced with the objective of bringing speedy treatment benefits and reimbursement of medical bills to the Government employees.

As per the new rule, the employees can now get themselves directly treated at Government hospitals, medical college hospitals, other recognised medical institutions and those under public private partnerships (PPP) model, he said. The new rule had also eased referral procedure for getting treatment in Government recognised hospitals outside Chhattisgarh, Raut said. A new provision had been added in the rule for getting serious illnesses of pensioner parents of the Government servant eligible for treatment, he said.
