The Chhattisgarh Government has declared the services of officials and employees of all power sector companies in the State as ‘Essential Services’. A notification to this effect was issued by the Home Deparment which would remain effective from June 29, 2013 onwards for the next three months.
The notification is applicable on all officers and employees including scientists, technical or executive involved in power generation, distribution, transmission and trading in Chhattisgarh who would not be able to refuse their duty as per the provisions made in the law, according to an official statement issued here.
