Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Sunday that his Government was committed to honour each and every promise made in the assembly election manifesto which helped party to return to power after a gap of 15 years in the mineral rich state last month.
“I am committed to each and every promise, farm loan has already been waived off which was Congress’ key commitment in run up to assembly polls,’’ Baghel remarked at the 73rd annual convention of Chhattisgarh Manva Kurmi Samaj at village Rampur in Bemetara district.
He reiterated that his government would work on promoting agro-based industries with an intention to ensure farmers should get Rs deserving price of their farm products’. He stated that agro-based industries have potential to offer huge employment opportunities to youths in the state.
While referring to a demand of imposing a ban on liquor in state, Baghel said the issue needs a wider debate in public. He said that Bemetara is a key agriculture-producing district which needs government back up for setting up agro-based industries in the district.
Baghel said that his government was dedicated to welfare of farmers and he would take all possible steps for improving financial health of farmers’ community.
“Farmers in Chhattisgarh need help from government, the Congress government has waived off farmers loan and decided to procure paddy crops at the rate of Rs 2500 per tonne,’’ Baghel opined, adding that he would continue with farmers welfare measures.
