The Chhattisgarh government has nearly completed the recruitment to establish a special force named ‘Bastar Fighters’. On Tuesday, the selection and waiting list of 2,100 Bastar Fighters (constables) were released.
The government took the initiative to ensure peace, security and development in the Naxalite-affected and forest areas of Bastar division.
This would also form a platform to ensure employment to the local tribal youth. As they know the local dialects, it will help eliminate the language challenge.
The new force would help establish better coordination with the police.
The recruitment covered Bastar, Dantewada, Kanker, Bijapur, Narayanpur, Sukma, and Kondagaon districts, an official communication said.
It said the recruitment process was held in May-June in which 5,405 candidates qualified the Physical Dexterity Test.
A total of 5,330 cleared the physical test and appeared in the written examination on July 17.
The 3,969 candidates who cleared the physical and written tests were interviewed from August 1 to 10. On completion of the process, the selection and waiting lists for the post of Bastar Fighter Constable were released.
