The Mahtari Dular Yojana, started in Chhattisgarh on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, has given relief to many families where parents died due to Covid-19, putting a question mark on the future of the children's education.

Shabnam's husband Mukim Khan died in the pandemic. With the help of the district administration, her three children have benefitted from the Mahtari Dular Yojana, under which the government will pay for their education.

Similarly, Muskan Prajapati, a Class 11 student of the Government Higher Secondary School in Bishrampur, will be able to complete her studies as the government has stepped in following the death of her father on May 29 due to corona infection.

Shabnam thanked the Chief Minister at the Bhoomi Pujan programme of Surajpur district. She said her husband's death made her wonder how she will fund her children's studies.

Along with this, an amount of Rs 1 lakh has been given to her under the insurance scheme of the Labor Department.

Muskan said the Education Department contacted her after her father's death and said she will get a scholarship of Rs 1,000 every month.

She too expressed her gratitude to the government and the Chief Minister.
