Govardhan Puja, one of the biggest festivals in Chhattisgarh, will be held with state patronage at Chief Minister’s Bhupesh Bhagel's official residence on Wednesday.
The festival means a lot to the agriculture-based economy in the state. Farmers worship their bovine wealth and a neckband is tied on the neck of the cattle.
Normally it is celebrated the day after Laxmi Puja. But this year, due to solar eclipse on Tuesday, it will be celebrated a day later on Wednesday, an official communiqué said.
