Jindal Steel and Power limited’s Raigarh plant was selected for the prestigious Srishti Green Cube Award for Good Green Governance.
The company was presented first prize in this category at an impressive function organised in New Delhi on the occasion of Prithvi Diwas (Earth Day) for its excellent contribution in the field of Environment conservation.
Notably, Srishti Green Cube Award for Good Green Governance is given for excellent work done in the field of environmental conservation and pollution control. For this prestigious award almost all major industrial units and plants had staked their claim but considering the efforts of JSPl in this field as excellent, the jury selected the Jindal’s Raigarh plant for this.
On receiving the coveted prize, Executive Director of JSPl Atul Mishra congratulated the entire team and said that the award has vindicated our efforts in the field of environment conservation. He claimed that in Raigarh plant best system of environmental management is implemented where air and water pollution is controlled at their sources itself whereas solid wastes are re-absorbed through various recycling processes. To minimise the emission of carbon dioxide and elements of global warming, the company uses the extra heat generated in DRI and coke oven in production of electricity. Environment conservation work is done under the supervision of environment management department and development of green strips and gardens is included in our work.
