President of Raipur District City Congress Committee Vikas Upadhyay on Monday slammed the State Government for allegedly making stock of liquor in a godown meant for grain storage in Bilaspur.

“Huge quantity of grains are lying out in open and is likely to rotten in this monsoon season. The Government cited having no space as reason behind keeping the grains in open while a godown meant for grain storage is being used for storing liquor” alleged Upadhyay. The Congress leader said that the incident exposed dual tendency of the State government.

“As the Government earns huge revenue from the sale of liquor, they are giving priority to make stock of liquors in the godown meant for grain storage” Upadhyay reasoned.

He threatened to launch a series of protests if the government failed to ensure safe storage of the grains, soon. Besides, appropriate action should be taken against the officials concerned, who gave order to use the godown for liquor storage, Upadhyay demanded.
