The Chhattisgarh government on Monday decided to speed up the payment in Godhan Nyay Yojana (GNY) by making it online so that cow dung sellers get their money fast.
The government has issued instructions for online payment, an official statement said. The cow dung sellers will get paid directly into their bank accounts.
In addition, the government said the whole business transaction related to cow dung purchase and selling of vermi compost will be made online through a web portal, the statement added.
Identified Self Help Groups (SHGs) will make the eco-friendly compost procured from Gauthan Committees.
After quality testing, the manufactured compost will be packaged and resent to the Gauthan committee for sale.
Anyone can buy the compost through cooperatives. A farmer can get subsidy on its purchase if he is a member of the cooperative, the communiqué added.
Any government or non-government institution can purchase the compost by making advance payment.
