Collector Avinash Champavat said that district and development block level committees will be constituted for observation and sudden inspection of all the girls’ ashrams and hostels across the district.
The committees will conduct sudden inspection of Ashram-hostels and will check the facilities being provided to the girls and investigate the cases of harassment against the girls.
The collector instructed the sub divisional officers to install landline phones in all the girls’ ashrams and hostels so that the girls could contact senior officer in case of any trouble. Addressing a meeting of the district level committee constituted for the solution of women related cases in hostels and ashrams held at the district office, the collector said
that development block level committees would be formed under the chairmanship of sub divisional magistrates. District Panchayat president, vice-president or member of district panchayat concerned would be the members of the committee. These committees will do sudden inspections of Government and private girls’ ashrams and hostels of their respective areas and if there any cases regarding harassment of girls found, it will inform the district level committee.
