To give relief to people from costly medicines, the state government will be opening generic medicine shop here in the industrial city Raigarh. After opening the generic medicine shop people would get cheap and fixed rate medicines.
According to sources, like other districts, medical shop owners have been openly looting people in the name of branded medicine in Raigarh district also. In the present time, medicine business has been deemed as most profitable. The doctors, in place of generic medicines, prescribe the patients branded medicines and the poor patients have been forced to purchase costly branded medicines to get well from their diseases.
However, looking to the dictatorship of multinational medicine companies, the government has been making schemes to stop use of branded medicines. In this direction the medicine department has made a special scheme to open generic medicine stops in all the district of the state, so that people should not move from place to place for cheap and fixed rate medicine.
It is said that about more than 100 medicine stops in the district but generic medicines are very less in these shops, whereas, the stock of branded medicines was always houseful.
With the opening of generic medicine shops, poor patients would definitely get the benefit of it.
According to the Drugs department, proposal in this regard had already been sent and it needs only the seal of approval. On getting green signal from the government, efforts would be started to open an all-facility generic medicine shop in Raigarh.
