Gariyaband has potential for tourism: CM

Published on:

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday said Gariyaband district, with its bountiful forest cover, has the potential to grow as a key tourism              centre.

Rajim is one of the nine locations that have been                recognized and being developed as part of the Ram Van Gaman Paryatan Paripath, he told the media.

He said Rajim has            developed its infrastructure for the convenience of             visitors and pilgrims. Additional efforts are being made to give ‘Rajim Fair’, held in February-March, a structured format.

Around 55 acres of land have been allocated and funds approved for the           development of the fair venue. Numerous associations can utilize the location to hold meetings, seminars and other social activities, he pointed out.

Sharing his experience of public interaction (Bhent Mulaqat) across the state, Baghel said it was providing firsthand feedback of the government’s schemes and policies. About 50 assembly constituencies have been covered. The response of people of Chhura, Fingeshwar and Rajim in the Rajim assembly constituency has been positive. The ‘Nyay’ schemes have brought marked changes in the lives of the locals, he said.

Gauthans he said, had helped to empower women. The sale of cow dung and vermi-compost has helped them to grow economically.
