Gariaband Collector Shruti Singh on Tuesday directed the district forest department to work on a working plan for plantation of 10 lakh sapling under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS).
She was reviewing the works executed under National Rural livelihood Mission and MNREGS, wherein she instructed about 10 to 15 Panchayats in the district to identify about 2-3 acre of land for carrying out plantation work.
While inquiring about incomplete works of water conservation, she told officials to get the works done on priority basis soon after the current Monsoon season.
While inquiring about linking of Aadhaar numbers with bank accounts of beneficiaries, she asked Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Panchayat Ritesh Agrawal to complete the works at the earliest.
Reviewing various works going-on under the National Rural livelihood Mission, she instructed officers to add more numbers of women with the mission. The Mission officers informed that 80 per cent families of Chhura block in the district have been connected to various self-help groups under the mission.
