Ganguram Baghel, former minster, formally joined Chhattisgarh Swabhiman Manch (CSM). Though Baghel did not plump for any particular seat, but the State General Secretary of party Mahesh Dewangan proposed his name from Arang seat, during a press conference on Friday.
Rajkumar Gupta advisor and spokesperson CSM informed that most probably CSM would launch about 40 to 45 candidates in coming State assembly elections scheduled by the end of this year.
He informed that talks are going on with stakeholders of Chhattisgarh Sanyukt Morcha (third front) and party would announce the name of candidates only after the candidatures of Congress and BJP are cleared.
Gupta reiterated his party’s belief of registering sure shot win from some constituencies. Gupta also revealed that they have been allocated 29 seats for contesting assembly polls under the banner of third front.
Baghel, criticised the ruling BJP and Congress terming them as parties of businessman and capitalists.
He alleged neither of the parties is concerned about giving rightful share to tribal’s unless, minority, and native residents of State. He also revealed that many unsatisfied leaders from both national parties are in touch with them but nothing could be revealed at the moment. Rajkumar Gupta claimed that very soon CSM might announce induction of a senior politician in the party.
To queries about prospect of Ajit Jogi’s joining CSM, Rajkumar Gupta turned down the question terming it a totally hypothetical. Ajit Jogi has consistently maintained Sonia Gandhi as his leader and if anyone wants come under umbrella of CSM then they would have to agree with ethics of party and accept Deepak Sahu as their leader.
Rajkumar Gupta spoke of continuing their agitation for jobs to locals in Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) while adding that their party is planning to stage gherao of BSP Chief Executive Officer (CEOs) bungalow on September 4.
Ganguram Baghel defected from BJP before 2003 to join Former CM Ajit Jogi led Government and was inducted in cabinet then. It was Tarun Chatarji who along with four others including Baghel have joind congress and was gifted with
the cabinet births.
