Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced on Monday that traditional idol makers can sell Lord Ganesh idols up to 4 feet. Ganesh Chaturthi falls on August 22.
The Chief Minister stated this to a farmer, Krishna Kumar Chakradhari, who presented him an idol of Lord Ganesh, an official statement said.
The farmer said that his family also makes idols. Already, for ‘Ganeshotsav’ the family had produced 36 idols. But due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions, it is unable to market them.
He urged the Chief Minister to permit the sale of idols for ‘Ganeshotsav’. Baghel then said that permission has been granted to sell the idols up to 4 feet.
