The people have given newly elected councilors a chance to serve them. So, it is their responsibility to fulfill the promises made on a war footing, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Saturday.
Addressing an event after Mayor Neeraj Pal and Chairman Girwar Sahu took charge of the Bhilai Municipal Corporation, Baghel said every elected representative had the responsibility to keep the promises made to the people.
Various works have to be undertaken on a war-footing. The opportunity given should be utilized to the maximum, he said.
Appreciating Mayor Pal, Baghel said he had developed the Sector 5 area, which was commendable. A beautiful park has been built here in the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
The Chief Minister asked the Mayor to develop the other side of the area which covers Kosa Nagar, Radhika Nagar, HUDCO and others.
Baghel threw light on the different schemes undertaken to strengthen the rural economy and development in urban areas.
