As part of 'Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Yojana' (Prime Minister’s Safe Motherhood Scheme), a
medical camp was organised in the health centres of Gariaband district.
The purpose of the scheme is to bring down the maternal mortality rate.
The Central Government has planned to host such free medical check-up camps in all the Primary Health Centre, Community Centre, District Hospitals and Private Nursing Home on the ninth day of every month.
Sources said the blood pressure, weight, haemoglobin, blood sugar and other tests of would be mothers will be conducted here.
Red stickers will be pasted on the cards of serious patients. likewise, Blue stickers would be pasted on
the cards of high blood pressure patients.
Women suffering from other diseases during pregnancy will be marked by pasting yellow stickers, said the District Chief Medical-cum-Health Officer.
