Chemotherapy facilities have been ensured in 17 district hospitals of Chhattisgarh. Of these, eight are in areas affected by Naxalite violence and tribal areas of Bastar and Surguja divisions, it was announced on Monday.
Free chemotherapy facility is being provided in four district hospitals of Dantewada, Narayanpur, Bastar and Kanker in Bastar division as well as Balrampur, Jashpur, Surguja and Surajpur district hospitals of Surguja division.
The other districts having the facility are Balod, Bemetara, Bilaspur, Gariaband, Janjgir, Korba, Mungeli, Raipur and Dhamtari.
In a phased manner, the facility will be made available in the remaining district hospitals of the state.
In the last one-and-a-half years, 820 cancer patients have been given free chemotherapy across the state.
