The Sukma district police arrested four persons with 70 kilograms of cannabis worth Rs2.75 lakh.
The stock of cannabis was being smuggled in a car from Sukma to Jagdalpur, police said. The accused were arrested after a white car was intercepted in which four people were travelling. Upon inspection, police found plastic bags filled with 70 kgs of cannabis. Police seized the stock and also arrested all the four. The accused were identified as Sunil Malviya, lakhanlal Malviya, Akhilesh Patel and Purushottam Patwa, all natives of Madhya Pradesh. The accused have been booked under Narcotics Drug Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act. Further investigations are underway.
