Chhattisgarh Police on Monday arrested the mastermind and his three accomplices for stabbing a Congress corporator to death near a lake in Durg district.
A week ago, Suraj Banchhor was killed by unidentified persons after he went to attend a party with friends near Hathkhoj lake.
Durg Senior Superintendent of Police Badri Narayan Meena identified those arrested as Dinesh Pal alias Deenu (41), Uttam Sona alias Buddha (35), Deepak Sahu alias Bhuru and Lokesh Sahu (21), all from Durg.
They killed the corporator of Charoda Municipality over an old enmity, the police said. The victim was stabbed multiple times.
Three of them were arrested from Janjgir-Champa district and Lokesh Sahu was held from Hathkhoj village.
Police seized a country-made pistol, four live cartridges, a dagger and a sword used in the crime.
