In another Maoist threat to political persons in State, Naxals allegedly issued life threats to seven political persons, including brother of forest minister Vikram Usendi through a pamphlet recovered in Bhanupratapur area of Naxal hit district on Thursday evening, sources said.

Police, however, denied recovery of any such pamphlets but confirmed recovery of four bombs from the spot. The Inspector General of Police, Bastar, Arun Deo Gautam, talking with The Pioneer over phone expressed ignorance over recovery of any such kind of pamphlets and said that there is nothing new in this. “Naxals regularly issue threats and we will analyze it and provide security then after.”

Meanwhile, Additional Superintendent of Police CD Tondon informed that BSP personnel have recovered four bombs from Sulangi village under Koilibeda police station around 1 pm. “Two tiffin bombs weighing 2 kg each and two pressure bombs weighing 2 kg each were found at the spot,” the ASP said. When questioned about the pamphlets issuing life threatening he denied about any such incident.

Notably Sumat Usendi (45), cousin brother of BJP leader and forest minister Vikram Usendi, was killed by Maoists in same village.
