An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district on Sunday admitted four minor daughters of a couple in jail in a girl child care home here.
Korba Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel came to know that a couple, residents of New Railway Colony in Korba town, are in jail in a cheating case, an official communication said.
Due to the absence of a guardian, there was a serious crisis of livelihood, care and protection for the children. The couple have six children including five daughters and a son. The eldest daughter has a private job and lives in a hostel in Raipur. The 17-year-old son wants to live with his uncle but there was none to look after the remaining four minor daughters.
The officer decided to admit the four at the Girl Child Care Home (Balika Grih).
