Gurvindar Singh Hora, brother of former Congress legislator Gurmukh Singh Hora, reportedly committed suicide at Union Club, Moti Baag on Monday late evening, police said.
“Hora shot himself with his personal pistol at the backseat of his car,” Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Prafull Thakur informed, adding that the incident happened between 7:30 and 8:00 pm.
According to police, Hora had recently undergone liver transplant and was reportedly suffering from cancer.
Police claimed that no suicide note was found at the incident spot.
“Hora had reached Union Club straight from home and according to people at the spot he appeared to be perfectly normal,” ASP Thakur said.
“Before leaving the club he asked his driver to get some ‘Bhajia’ when the driver returned, he found Hora lying on the back seat in a pool of blood. The gun was found in his hand,” the ASP claimed.
