Former Congress MP from Rajnandgaon, Devvrat Singh and scion of the royal family of Khairagarh who had also been three times MlA on Friday resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party.
The former MP sent his resignation to AICC President Rahul Gandhi, party sources informed here.
Singh has not yet cited any reason for the step but sources close to him informed that the former MP was upset with being sidelined by the party bosses for the last four years.
Congress leader of Opposition from Chhattisgarh TS Singhdeo however informed reporters that the party would try to pacify Singh and bring him back to the party fold.
