nChhattisgarh Forest Minister Mohd. Akbar tested a new digital system to monitor everyone in the Forest Department, and it took no time for him to pick out the truant employees.
The Minister tested the digital mobile application based on real time information gathering to monitor the work of the Forest Department. It is expected to increase efficiency.
The mobile app was tested on Thursday while the Minister chaired a meeting of Forest Department officials at the Secretariat, Nava Raipur, said an official statement.
The Minister was told that the app is geographic information system (GIS) based and equipped with the latest technology.
It can also monitor information related to employees and officers’ location, movements and their date wise presence, the statement added.
During the test, the Minister found 4,000 employees, including officials, have already registered in the app -- 1,510 officers and staff are active.
The Minister became angry when he found officials of Barnavapara and Bilaigarh Forest Circles were inactive. He asked for 100 percent registration and said everyone must remain active on the application while on duty, the statement said.
The Forest Department has a staff strength 6,700.
