The Food department officers seized eight domestic lPG cylinders being transported illegally from a hotel in Baijnathpara locaility on Friday.
A case under lPG (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order 2000 and Essential Commodity Act 1955 besides Explosive Act has been registered against the accused.
Assistant Food Officer Sanjay Dubey said that he spotted a Tata Ace number CG-04 JD 5121 carrying domestic lPG cylinders. On being interrogated, the driver Vicky Sahu, resident of Santoshi Nagar informed them that he was transporting the cylinders from the Hotel to a party venue.
“We did not find any document or permission letter for transporting the cylinders.The cylinders and the vehicle were seized and case was registered against owner of the Hotel, owner of the vehicle and the caterer,” he said.
