Five industrial units in Raigarh have not paid water tax to the tune of Rs50 crore. The issues are pending with the court. This was disclosed by Water Resources Minister Brijmohan Agrawal in the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Tuesday.
In a written reply filed to a question raised by Congress member Umesh Patel, Agrawal said that the industrial units which have not paid water tax include Anjani Steel limited, Jindal Power limited, Rukmani Power and Steel limited, MSP Power limited and Ind Synergy limited.
leader of Opposition TS Singhdeo asked if the court has granted stay in the issues. If not, will the Government take action against them or stop water supplyIJ Agrawal replied that the court has not awarded stay and notices have been issued to these companies through the Collector. Action will be taken against them, he said.
