Chhattisgarh Police on Monday arrested five persons for accepting bets on the ongoing IPL cricket matches here.
Raipur Additional Superintendent of Police Abhishek Maheshwari said the five were Gurmeet Singh, Ramakant Patle, Ritesh Miri, Ravi Mahant and Rahul Vastrakar.
Singh hails from Raipur city while the four others are from Janjgir-Champa district.
The police seized five mobile phones, a laptop, a car, Rs 3,500 in cash and betting records detailing transactions of lakhs of rupees from them, he said.
They had bet on the IPL match played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings on Sunday evening.
