Under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and National Service Scheme will conduct a Fit India Freedom Run in 28 districts of Chhattisgarh on Friday to mark 75 years of Indian Independence, it was announced on Thursday.
This year, the Run will commence on August 13 and conclude on October 2.
The Director of Press Information Bureau (Raipur), Kripa Shankar Yadav, told reporters that there will be a total of 75 events in 75 villages in each district and a Freedom Run at the district headquarters.
Through this initiative, more than 1.59 lakh youths and the general public will take part in 2,128 events in the state, he said.
